True Blood, At Last..

August 27, 2009

Alright, so I’m kicking this off by talking about True Blood.  I read a lot of books about vampires and watch a lot of movies and shows.  But I really got into True Blood, which really sucked, cause I wasn’t even close to having cable.  So I’d have to sneak it onto the TV at Guy’s house on demand and watch the episodes that I had missed.  It kinda sucked, but meh.

So anyway, Guy is starting to move in, and he brought his cable over yesterday.  I still have to cancel my subscription with AT&T, but I’m not too fussed about it.  I got to watch a full uninterrupted episode (10) of True Blood from my bed last night, and it was heaven.  Sure, I had to hear Guy grumble, but I think it’s starting to grow on him.

So, I’ll say it.  I was the chick that read the books before she watched the show.  I love the books.  I don’t normally like the way someone can turn a decent book into a shitty show, but the writers at HBO seemed to know when to exaggerate and when to stick to the storyline.  And yeah, they vary away from it, but the side stories that they’re making are kinda cool.  I like it, for whatever reason.

And they didn’t kill Lafayette.  Squee.

Yesterday really was hectic.  I grouted my mother’s bathtub, she paid me, but then I spent it all in gas going to the northside of the city to help my mom’s friend who’s car broke down on the side of the road.  This irritated Guy because I left he and my roomate with a small amount of smokes, and both of them needed the car at the same time.  He had to get back to his house and get his TV and the stuff he uses to host his websites.  I don’t understand how it works, but if it goes down, a lot of people lose their websites.  My other roomate had plans to go see her kinda boyfriend.  I didn’t get home until nearly 10.  Guy broke down and walked to the CVS to get smokes and all was well.  We’re going to get the rest of his stuff today.

More about Guy’s mama.  He keeps saying she really likes me, and looking at the short amount of time Guy and I have been together, that’s odd, cause she’s normally a tough woman to crack.  I knew her before, cause I worked with her other two boys at the pizza place, and she was always very nice, but critical of the people they came home with.  I really like her, she’s an awesome lady.

I’m waiting now for the phone call from my mom telling me that my dad hates the grout and that I have to tear it out and redo it.  I was supposed to be out of the house to finish it by 8, but my roomate is now an hour and a half late in returning my car.  I knew she was going to be.  I was supposed to drive Guy to work at 8, she’s fairly lucky that he can go in later today.  She doesn’t know that though.

I’m off now, I’m going to attempt to clean the house before I really have to get over there.  I’m so tired, stayed up too late soaking up the cable and quadruple speed internet.  Yay.

Indeed Vampires are not supposed to sparkle, nor to be boring to death. True Blood really rocks, especially season 2, I’m into it too, I haven’t read the book though. Really it’s the nicest vampire show since Buffy (still my favorite one).
